Planning Stage
The project rejuvenates a derelict site in Wimbledon by building a three storey house with a basement entertainment level. After establishing that the original building on-site had fallen into too bad a condition to be worked with, the decision to construct a new building that would sit seamlessly within the existing context.
The living-dining space sits at the back to connect with the large garden space. The design for the project was influenced greatly by the materials and aesthetic of the area but with the intention of providing a contemporary design.
The single-storey outhouse in the rear was designed as a playful, modern summer building that is covered by existing tree shade.
